When the first Vasari boutique opened in 1982, it turned the jewellery sector upside down. Unlike more traditional shops, with their focus on gems, this exquisite jeweller’s presented its work as unique works of art of great quality and beauty. The choice of name – a tribute to 16th century Florentine painter, architect and historian Giorgio Vasari – reflects the Renaissance spirit the brand seeks to convey.
Design-driven Mª Carmen Barbero, artistic director, is behind the Vasari style. Under her expert guidance, materials like gold, pavé and gemstones are transformed into architectural shapes, using innovative colour combinations, to make products that range from the baroque to the minimalistic.
Vasari’s exclusive and unconventional approach has brought it considerable acclaim from professionals at home and abroad. Over the years, some of its pieces have become classics. Its series of capitals, doubles and spiders are examples.
Vasari has jewellery shops in Madrid, Barcelona, Tenerife and Andorra la Vella. It regularly exhibits at trade shows like Iberjoya and buys at global exhibitions like Baselworld, Hong-Kong/Bangkok, Vicenza and The JCK Show Las Vegas.
