Spanish brand Mamatayoe was created in the 90s. By 2001, it had become a significant force in the Spanish market, with an increasingly relevant philosophy that seeks to reflect diverse cultures and strike a balance between the dictates of history and the needs of the environment.
Mamatayoe garments are made for men and women by a design team of five, headed by Cristina González.
The brand takes part in tradeshows like Madrid SIMM International Fashion Week, Smop Moda FIL in Lisbon and Exponord in Porto.
Its POS are carefully selected both in Spain, where it has 550, and abroad. Portugal and France are its main foreign markets, where it is sold at 60 and 45 shops respectively. It is also available in Slovenia, UAE, Italy, Malta, Japan, Lebanon and the Netherlands.
Its global plans will first focus on the European Union, which it expects to cover within the next three years. Its expansion drive will take it to exhibitions like Who´s Next in Paris and Pure London, and it will soon be on sale in the USA.
Mamatayoe has a workforce of eleven. In 2005, it exported 11% of its output.
