Israel Rodríguez, Beatrice Sebastián and Ana Ynzenga created Beachcouture in 2004 to add some verve to a Spanish fashion segment that had previously been little explored: swimwear.

Today, although the company has expanded into ready-to-wear, its spring-summer collections continue to focus on beachwear, while intimates and accessories, another of its mainstays, occupy pride of place in winter.

Beachcouture is designed for a sophisticated and feminine but unconventional woman who steers clear of more obvious fashion. The key to its rapid success lies in a combination of cutting-edge design and good business sense, with particular attention to fabric quality. Its designers seek inspiration in the avant-garde movements of the early 20th century, in a beach-city partnership, designers like Balenciaga, Chanel and Vionnet and in contemporary architecture. Black and white are its trademark colours.

The label made its catwalk debut at Cibeles Ego in 2006, and has since taken part in two consecutive editions. For the past five seasons, it has been available from Spain’s top multi-brand retailers and in countries as diverse as France, Japan, UAE and Ivory Coast.
