  • PROFILE

Siona García founded her namesake brand in 1989 to create party dresses. Her couture garments pay meticulous attention to detail and are made from the finest fabrics. Aimed at a modern, elegant woman, her sumptuous evening wear contrasts with a simpler, more comfortable day look.

Top quality raw materials are a priority for the Canary designer. Fabrics are the result of painstaking research at art galleries, museums and libraries, where Siona seeks the inspiration she needs. Her close cooperation with prestigious artisans explains the exceptional textures that feature in her collections.

Silk, lace and new-age fabrics are among Siona García’s particular favourites. Embroidery with gemstones is produced on ancient looms in Northern France. Its complexity is such that only a maximum length of five metres can be produced at any one time. The fabric is hand-finished, each piece different from the other. In 1998, García was the first designer to use pure raffia in apparel, a material that had previously only been used in millinery.

Siona García has presented many of her collections on the Spanish and international catwalk, including at the Gaudí Bridal Wear Catwalk in June 2006 and at the Kleinfeld showrooms in New York in 2005.

Siona García now has 65 points of sale in Spain and abroad. Countries include Portugal, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Greece, Kuwait, UAE, Ecuador, Mexico, USA and Canada.
