Autumn/Winter 2012/2013
Juan Pedro López studied design at the Llotja school in Barcelona. In 1999, at the age of 22, he won the Smirnoff Fashion Award in Spain, which marked the start of an international career which would take him to Hong Kong in November that year to take part in the final. His cutting edge approach combined with the seductive femininity of his designs have met with considerable acclaim ever since. The following year, he presented his first collection at the Gaudí Catwalk in Barcelona, in which he drew his inspiration from Tibet. This debut was followed by seven subsequent collections at the Young Designers’ Catwalk.
Since the outset, López has paid special attention to the international dimension of his work. In September 2002, he took part in the world final of the Mittelmoda Fashion Awards in Grado, Italy. In October 2005, he made his debut on the Paris Catwalk.
The creations of the Barcelona-born designer are already available in New York, Oslo, Zurich and Milan. On February 27, his autumn-winter 2006/07 collection went on show at the Westin Hotel in Paris. His spring-summer 2007 collection, an exercise in glam sophistication, met with acclaim at the latest Passarel.la Barcelona catwalk.
