After graduating in Decorative Arts and working for leading jewellers such as Tateossian, London-based Basque designer Mónica Vinader embarked on a solo career creating bespoke pieces for private clients.
In 2002 she launched her own brand, based on affordable modern and streamlined yet sophisticated collections in silver, gold and brightly-coloured faceted semi precious stones. An enquiring and tireless traveller, the inspiration for Mónica’s creations comes from her travels around the world, especially in her native Spain and Latin American countries such as Mexico, Chile and Argentina.
Her delightfully captivating designs were an immediate success. Her first distributor was top London department store Liberty, renowned for its outstanding selection of contemporary jewellery. In 2008 her sister Gabriela Vinader joined the firm and together they received the Award for the UK Jewellery Brand of the Year in 2009, the year that also saw the opening of their first flagship store in Madrid.
Mónica Vinader jewellery is sold at 70 exclusive points of sale around the world, including leading London department stores Liberty, Harrods and Selfridges, as well as the world’s number one luxury retailer, Net-a-Porter.
With stores in Madrid, Seville and San Sebastian, Mónica Vinader is currently working on plans to open a fourth boutique in London. Her loyal customers include celebrities such as Cameron Díaz, Keira Knightley, Cheryl Cole, Emily Blunt or Mischa Barton.
