    Elisa Palomino's interview.

Born in Valencia, Elisa Palomino has worked with top international designer brands throughout her career.

At the age of 16, she left Spain to study design in Italy, and from there went on to London to study at the prestigious St. Martins College of Art, where she met future colleagues like Alexander McQueen, Antonio Berardi, Hussein Chalayan, Giles Deacon and Mathew Williamson.

Her first job was at the British decorative fabric company Timney Fowler, and after that she joined one of Italy’s most international fashion brands, Moschino. For five years, she designed the Cheap & Chic line, developing the brand’s whimsical style and learning the fashion business in the process.

She was taken on by John Galliano for Christian Dior and his own brand, where she has been his Studio Director for eight years, whilst working on the French maison’s haute couture collection. During this period, she had the opportunity to work together with “Petites Mains” in the haute couture workshops, where she helped create genuine works of art.

She also worked briefly as Studio Director for designer Roberto Cavalli before re-locating to New York to become Vice President of Design at Diane Von Furstenberg, taking charge of the company’s complete creative process from 2008 to July 2010.

In February 2010, she made her debut with her own brand at New York Fashion Week. Elisa Palomino has just presented her second collection, Eternal Spring 11, on the catwalks of Rome, Madrid and Milan, and was selected as a finalist at the leading contest Who is on Next? sponsored by Vogue Italy.
