Madrid-based Spanish jewellery brand Alexandra Plata was created in 1998 by Alejandra Yagüe. Since her very first collection, the designer has been making ready-to-wear jewellery with original, cutting-edge designs in silver which, in her own words "make no distinction between race, culture or lifestyle and add strength to any personal style".
Alexandra Plata offers two collections a year: spring-summer and autumn-winter. Its bracelets, ear-rings, necklaces, rings and cufflinks are often inspired by the designer’s trips to exotic destinations, and extol the virtues of cultural diversity and the wealth of nature. Smooth and hammered silver is combined with leather, linen, cotton, mother of pearl and semi-precious stones.
The company also has a corporate gift service, for which a design team customises products to suit individual customer needs.
Alexandra Plata is very concerned about underprivileged children in Spain, Latin America, Africa and Asia. For this reason, Alexandra Plata support charities working with underprivileged children, as well as with nonprofit organisations which aim to make life a little more bearable to youngsters in hospital.
The brand is distributed at points of sale in different Spanish cities and in more than 30 countries around the world. The USA, France, Japan, Russia, UK, Portugal, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates are the main international markets of a company that exports 45% of output.
Alexandra Plata is a regular at Éclat de Mode, in Paris, where it received the Étoile de Mode Award in 2004 and 2006. The prestigious prize is awarded to traders by the international press for outstanding originality, elegance and quality.
