Argila came about when modeller Pepe Monjo, who comes from a long line of Menorcan shoe-makers, teamed up with footwear manufacturer Capo Triay, which also makes the Homers brand.

Since it was founded in 2005 in Ciutadella (Minorca), Argila has given expression to the way Monjo sees women’s shoes, with a skilful mixture of ethnic style and a vintage look. The result is 75 new designs every season with a strong Mediterranean character, organic shapes, natural shades, an arty flavour and always created for comfort.

With a workforce of 35, Argila produces 10,000 pairs of shoes a year and has 20 POS in Spain, 50 abroad and also sells online.

Despite its youth, the brand already exports 65% of output, with the USA (22%), Belgium (18%) and France (15%) as its main markets.

Argila is a regular at footwear exhibitions like FN Platform (Las Vegas), Sole Commerce (New York), MICAM (Milan), Modacalzado (Madrid), GDS (Düsseldorf) and Moda Made in Italy (Munich).
