Founded in 1994, Madrid-based Magerit Joyas is a Spanish company which specialises in top-class artisanal jewellery, with fresh and original designs.
The brand’s name comes from the Arabic word Mayrit, known as Magerit in the Christian world, which some etymologists believe to be the origin of the name Madrid. The linguistic connection has opened the door to competitive markets like the United Arab Emirates.
Magerit launches one collection a year in 18 carat gold, which uses diamonds, sapphires, pearls, quartz and onyx. These precious stones are exquisitely carved into highly personal designs inspired by nature. Nymphs, tigers, birds and the seasons are some examples of the bucolic imagery to which Magerit has turned.
Every piece of jewellery is made in the brand’s Madrid workshops to the strictest quality standards and using state-of-the-art technology. Each is signed and engraved with its own serial number, guaranteeing exclusivity and identifying the jewellery as unique.
Magerit Joyas employs 31 people, and has 10 POS in Spain and 60 abroad. Around 95% of output is exported to the international markets, specially to countries like Germany, Russia, Japan, UAE and Mexico. The brand is a regular at the Baselworld exhibition in Switzerland.
