Skunkfunk was created in 1996 by Mikel Feijoo Elzo, who set out to create a less conventional streetwear brand. Before long, his modest T-shirt line was followed by an extensive catalogue which included reversible and swappable garments.
World culture and funky music are Skunkfunk’s sources of inspiration. Since the year 2000, it has grown apace and now produces 300-piece collections, sub-divided into different lines, including high street line SKFK.
Skunkfunk started out distributing through multi-brand retailers which enabled it to position itself in some of the best shops in Western Europe, as well as in Greece and Russia. It is now getting ready to launch in New Zealand, Canada, Croatia and Australia.
The streetwear brand has eleven shops in Spain, located in cities such as Alicante, Bilbao, Madrid and Valencia. Abroad it has nine boutiques in major world cities such as Berlin, Dublin, San Francisco and Sydney.
The brand is a regular at tradeshows such as Bread & Butter Barcelona and CPH Vision in Copenhagen.
