In the wake of her ten-year creative partnership with Óscar Benito as Locking Shocking, Ana González decided to go it alone as Ana Locking. The result was Reentry, her autumn-winter 2008/09 collection and the opera prima that won her the L´Oréal prize at the February 2008 edition of the Pasarela Cibeles.

Locking Shocking was a huge hit on the Cibeles Catwalk and brought the designer duo numerous accolades, including the L´Oréal prize for their spring-summer 2003 collection and the Prix Marie Claire which the magazine awarded in 2004. They also worked with diverse brands, schools and institutions on all manner of projects, from exhibitions to conferences and seminars.

This commitment to building bridges between fashion and other artistic disciplines so characteristic of Locking Shocking remains a cornerstone of the designer’s solo career.

Ana Locking sells made-to-measure collection at her studio-workshop in Madrid’s Calle Hortaleza. She also makes accessories and jewellery collections.

In September 2009 she presented her spring-summer 2010 collection at New York’s Public Library as part of NY Fashion Week, alongside the colleagues who are part of the 4Eyes project. In November the same year, she was named Best Designer of the Year by Cosmopolitan magazine.

In spring 2010 she launched a capsule collection of 50 outfits for the private website BuyVip.

Black is the backbone of the designer’s daring collections which have a baroque, neo-gothic feel that regularly surprises catwalk visitors at Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week, although she also includes brighter, more optimistic colours. Her feminine silhouettes are influenced by constructivism, as is evident from the geometric puzzles that create her garments.
