    Interview with Jorge Hernández, commercial director of The Art Company

    The Art Company was created in 1995, but has been in the footwear sector for 30 years. Based in La Rioja, the company designs, produces and sells two footwear brands: Art and Neosens.

    Each season, Art (the more veteran of the two) features young, new and non-conformist styles. Comfort, design and innovation, plus a cheeky sense of humour, have made its wide range of products a big hit in Europe.

    Created in 2007, Neosens caters to a more mature target, which is urban, refined and cosmopolitan. The brand has positioned itself in the high-end shoe segment and can be found in top multi-brand boutiques in Barcelona, Paris, Milan, Florence, London, Berlin, Tokyo and New York.

    The Art Company exports 87% of output. Its main markets are France (300 PoS) and Germany (250), but it is also well established in countries like Switzerland, the UK and the US. It operates in 38 countries altogether.

    The company presents collections at the sector’s leading tradeshows, including Micam (Milan) and GDS (Düsseldorf). Its short-term plans include consolidating new markets through partnerships with local distributors, strengthening its brand image where it already operates, continuing to participate in the tradeshows on its agenda and attending new events.
