Interview with Magnanni's manager Sebastián Blanco
The renowned men’s footwear label Magnanni was created by Sebastian Blanco Aldomar, who set up the company of the same name several decades ago. When his son, Pascual Blanco Martínez, himself a footwear designer, took the helm, he steered the collections towards quality and design under the Magnanni trade name.
An enthusiastic reception facilitated the firm’s entry into new markets in Europe. With the company in its second generation, which had trained in America, Magnanni opened offices in Ohio and later a US subsidiary.
Since then, the label has gone from strength to strength. Premium materials and meticulous design – handcrafted at the firm’s factory in Almansa (Albacete) – are combined with personalised customer service.
The company sells its products in Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Hong Kong and the USA. Its major clients include department and chain stores including El Corte Inglés in Spain, Heyraud in France, Salamander in Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland and Russia, Lagerson in Sweden, Mourides in Greece and Battaglia in the USA.
