El Secreto del Mar (The Secret of the Sea) designs, produces and sells El Niño, a surfing label from Tarifa in Cádiz. The drawing of a little ghost is the origin of a name that has become something of an icon for young water sport enthusiasts.
The brand’s youth and non-conformism translate into highly original, top quality garments and accessories (eyewear, hats, towels, watches and costume jewellery). These fall into a number of categories including surfwear, sportswear and casual wear for men, women and children.
El Niño has some 20 points of sale in Spain, some standalone, some franchise-run. A distribution deal with El Corte Inglés department store has brought its collections to 12 corners all over the country.
This surfer’s favourite label took part in ISPO 2004 in Munich and has embarked on an ambitious global expansion strategy.
