From a long line of footwear experts, Salvador Sapena Maestre set up his own company in Elda in 1971. After three generations producing shoes, in 1999 the decision was taken that the firm would launch a label of its own Salvador Sapena, producing top quality, designer women’s footwear. Today, the firm retains its family orientation at the helm, but growth has required it to adapt to modern market mechanisms.
It was in America that it first embarked on its exports venture. In the eighties, it began to take an interest in European markets, particularly Britain, where it currently works with key fashion retailers belonging to the British Shoe Corporation.
Exports account for a high proportion of SALVADOR SAPENA products, which are sold to more than 20 countries, mainly in Europe, including Britain, Italy, France and Ireland. It also operates in Asia, where Japan and Hong Kong are its main markets. It is also a regular at major international trade fairs like GDS (Germany), Micam (Italy), Modacalzado (Spain), PREMIER (France). APLF (Hong Kong-China) and OBUV (Russia).
