La Coruña-based firm Confecciones Esquio, S.A., embarked on its venture with the Alba Conde company in 1990 and has been producing the AC – Alba Conde label since 2002. The whole production process from design to manufacture takes place in Galicia, where the company has a production area of more than 2,000 square metres. Combined turnover for 2004 reached almost €8 million euros, of which exports accounted for more than 20%.
The first combined store for both brands opened in Ponferrrada (León) in September 2004 as part of a franchise-based expansion. It now has one standalone in La Coruña and another opening in Lugo in March 2005. Its collections are available from 400 multi-brand retailers all over Spain. Alba Conde also has its own corners in Spain and in a number of countries in Europe and America. It already exports to France, Britain, Portugal, Ireland and Mexico, and has plans for further global expansion.
Alba Conde has always been a regular participant at Madrid’s International Fashion Week (SIMM). Its collections include more than 250 garments, in addition to a special party wear range.
