Born in Seville, Anjara García Gómez has always had close ties with the world of fashion, which she has combined with her job as audiovisual and musical events organiser and producer. Her company is defined by its irreverent and provocative approach. Anjara designs for a strong, dynamic and audacious modern who is both urban and cosmopolitan, but above all a fighter. The classical elegance of her collections is not at odds with their cutting-edge spirit, where refined cut merges with visionary philosophy.
In the world of fashion, Anjara has tested many different waters. For a number of years she was involved in the production of the Circuit catwalk (2002/03), which she combined with her work as freelance stylist and designer in Detroit and New York for the Annie Belle children’s wear label.
Anjara made her debut in major fashion events in 1998/2000, when she produced several catwalk shows and performances in major Spanish cities. She presented her designs in Seville, Malaga, Benicassim (winner of the Award for Best Designer at the FIB Catwalk), Gijón and at Barcelona’s Gaudí Catwalk, where she showcased her spring-summer 2005 and autumn-winter 2005/06 collections.
Anjara went global in 2005, when she presented her spring-summer 2006 and autumn-winter 2006/07 collections at Prêt à Porter “Atmosphere” in Paris. In recent seasons, she has played a prominent part at the Espacio Cibeles in Madrid’s international SIMM exhibition.
Anjara has its own shop in Madrid, at 22 Calle Almirante. Since June 2007, it has also operated as a showroom, developing advertising for its own brand and top names like Ian Mosh, Antonio García and Me & Co. Stylism for press, TV, cinema, videoclips and production are carried out on the premises, along with reports and photography for publication.
One of the latest projects of the designer from Seville is to organise Noche Abierta. This night-time shopping event is held on the first Thursday of every month, when the boutiques in Calle Almirante and the surrounding area stay open into the early hours.
