True to its roots, Mascaró has successfully kept up with the times, while retaining the quality and traditional craftsmanship its collections have always been known for. Since it was created in 1918, the company has grown, introducing the latest technologies in its production processes, including a strong design component in its collections and making a firm commitment to globalisation.
Mascaró is more than just a business paragon: it is a symbol of distinction and sophistication for women all over the world. Back in the 1950s, the family’s second generation took the decisive step of transforming the old workshop where they made their ballet shoes into an ambitious modern company, focused on quality designer footwear. The third generation, which currently heads up the business is behind its global strategy.
Today, the Mascaró Group, which is based on the island of Menorca, a beacon in top-end footwear production, has a workforce of more then 250 and operates in the market under three brand names: Mascaró, Úrsula Mascaró and Pretty Ballerinas. Annual production stands at 500,000 pairs and exports account for 60% of output.
A network of 78 brand shops and more than 5,000 multi-brand sales points in exclusive shopping areas gives Mascaró access to its discerning target: elegant and sophisticated contemporary women. In Spain, its boutiques can be found in major cities like Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia, and abroad in fashion capitals such as Paris, New York, London, Los Angeles, Cannes, Monte Carlo and Taiwan.
Its global strategy has been facilitated by its quality product and a successful sales policy which has taken it to top footwear fairs around the world. The success of its showrooms in Spain, France, Germany, Taiwan, Ireland, UK and Australia has also contributed to its world prestige.
