Miriam Ponsa’s career began in the Ponsa factory set up by her great grand-mother, who produced haberdasher’s ribbon. After studying design in Southampton (England) and Barcelona, she turned the factory into the studio where she now prepares her collections. Known as Creasilk, the firm still retains the essence of the silk thread used by Miriam Ponsa’s predecessors. And it is an ancestral flavour that has gone down well in Spain, for in addition to the Miriam Ponsa shop recently opened in Manresa, the brand can also be found at major multi-brand stores all over the country. Abroad too, the firm is consolidating its position through agents and distributors, and its new international markets now account for 80% of sales. These include Japan, with 60% of the total, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, Italy, France, Norway, the USA and Saudi Arabia.

The firm takes its collections to major trade shows worldwide including the International Fashion Fair in Tokyo, and Prêt à Porter and Workshop in Paris. She will soon be exhibiting her work at the Prestige fair (Dubai World Centre) in the United Arab Emirates.

Since four seasons, Miriam Ponsa has presented her collections at the Gaudí Catwalk.
