A family undertaking founded in 1950, Indumentaria y Complementos AUGUSTA, SL started out producing ties from its own fabrics, printed patterns and designs.
In 1970, it ventured into women’s scarves and men’s foulards, under the Cris Zarel and Ivan Gasso brands respectively.
After the tremendous reception given to the designs and printed patterns used, in 1978 Augusta decided to extend the Cris Zarel brand to include women’s swimwear and beachwraps. By 1980, success on this front had led them to abandon scarves altogether, throwing their full weight behind the swimwear initiative.
The First Company brand was launched a while later in order to give swimwear a new, different spirit, and was followed by First Time, the lingerie and homewear brand.
The company currently produces 114,000 garments in its Barcelona factory, 20% of which are then exported. Japan, Britain, Portugal and even Russia are some of its main clients.
