  • PROFILE

The Monreal y Mercader project was brought to life in 1996 when Yuri Lambea and his wife Niñez Gil decided to create a firm that specialised in women’s leather wear. Its abiding aim is the production and distribution of top-quality leather fashions, which has paved the way for its entry into new markets. This quality policy includes a commitment to the ISO 9001 certificate, for which it regularly reviews its objectives.

The firm has attached considerable significance to exports and its products are now available from 60 different points of sale abroad. Indeed, exports accounted for 20.5% of its turnover in 2003. Its main markets include Japan, France, Austria, Andorra, Finland, Portugal, Germany and Russia, where it uses a network of agents. To reinforce this global policy, the firm attends prestigious international trade fairs, including Japan’s Spanish Fashion Week, Germany’s CPD and Mifur in Italy. In Spain, it sells its leather wear from 190 points of sale, including specialist retailers. It also has a store of its own in Zaragoza and plans to open another in Madrid.
