Calzados Jordi was founded in 1966. This Majorca-based firm sells its collections under the “George’s” brand name and uses handcrafted production methods to create highly distinctive footwear.
Unique shoe and heel shapes, the finest materials, including French tanned leather and English suede, have been a consistent quality hallmark since the brand was first founded. Bovine leather linings and personalised tread in leather and rubber are also used.
The company makes two collections a year with some 120 designs for men and 40 for women. In keeping with the new trend in women’s Oxford looks, the brand is now updating its ladies shoes, drawing on its expertise in comfortable shoe shapes and men’s-style flats. Its women’s footwear is now looking at a new growth opportunity, the challenge of introducing heels.
George’s are sold at select retailers and aimed at a tonier market segment which demands top-quality materials, craftsmanship and highly personal design.
As an extension of its philosophy of personalised service and top-end quality, the George's e-shop has an à-la-carte catalogue from which customers can choose colour, leather, lining and soles in line with individual taste.
George’s employs a workforce of fifty and produces 250 pairs of shoes a day and 45,000 to order. It is a regular at the MICAM and Première Classe tradeshows and France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Scandinavia, Japan, China and Australia are its main international markets.
