Castañer first began its activity 25 years ago, producing espadrilles for farm workers. The arrival of Isabel Castañer marked a turning point for this family run business. She found a niche for this type of footwear on the fashion scene.
Her espadrille designs became very popular. They were even to be seen on the catwalks of top designers such as Yves St. Laurent. This Spanish company gradually began to present a variety of versions, colours and models. Such innovations attracted the attention of the French, British, German, Italian or North American markets.
Castañer has designed collections for top names including Hermès, Dior, Celine, Kenzo or Armani. They are sold in the company’s own stores, located in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Marbella and Paris.
