Interview with Oriol Oliveras, director of Bagués-Masriera
In 1985, two time-honoured names in the world of jewellery joined forces, Masriera and Bagués. Both renowned for their creativity and strong market position, the alliance between them brought together the unquestionable artistic legacy of the former with the business structure, technical capacity and exacting standards of the latter.
Bagués was founded in 1917. Its contemporary jewellery collections draw their inspiration from the Mediterranean and have carved out a position for the firm as one of the best in its field. Its two outlets in Barcelona, both listed buildings, are in themselves indicative of the company’s artistic leanings.
Masriera, founded in 1839 and winner of many top international awards and accolades, retains an ongoing commitment to its customers both in terms of the quality of the raw materials it uses and the rigour of its production processes. Its jewellery is predominantly handmade, using a translucent enamelling technique, better known as Masriera enamel, and is characterised by its brilliance, chromaticism and relief. Each piece carries an identification number as proof of its authenticity and comes with a guarantee certificate which reproduces the original design.
Masriera collections are sold all over the world through the head office in Barcelona and distributors in the USA and Japan.
