Interview with Mayoral's Rafael Domínguez de la Maza
The Mayoral business group began life as a small sock and hosiery workshop in Malaga. A number of new product lines were gradually introduced, including shirts, trousers and jumpers. Today the company is Spain's leading children's wear manufacturer.
Confecciones Mayoral is the parent company of a group that produces 12 million garments a year amongst 4,500 clients worldwide.
The Group's long-standing tradition in exports dates back to the 60s, when it started selling its collections to Western European countries. Today half of the total sales come from exports. This is the result of a strategy that combines subsidiary companies with a network of sales agents throughout Western Europe, Saudi Arabia and the United States. It has a total of 50 retail outlets in Spain, half of which belong to the group and the other half operate as franchises.
