    Camper, feature story

Camper is a family run business based in Majorca. The company is devoted to the production and sale of footwear. It is distinguished by its ambitious international projection.

The Company, currently in the hands of the fourth generation, was set up by Antonio Fluxá. He was a traditional shoemaker who travelled to England from Majorca in 1877 to learn about modern shoe design and production methods. Since then, the Company has been known for its capacity for innovation and its skill at successfully combining fashionable and practical designs.

The Camper brand was created in 1975. Today Camper is more than just shoes. It is a way of life, a philosophy that has become truly international. The "Pelotas" model features among its top products, and is one of the world's top selling shoes.

The Company's internationalisation strategy has been based on the opening of the brand's own stores. Now there are 129 stores worldwide (57 owned stores and 72 concessions). In addition to its own stores, the Company's products are also on sale in 65 shop-in-shops, 16 outlet stores and 70 corners located in Spanish deparment stores El Corte Inglés.

Foreign sales make up 70% of the Company's total turnover.
