The designer Kina Fernández was born in Ourense, yet whilst she was still very young she moved to Paris, a city which fully awakened her interest in fashion. It was there that she began a learning process that is still continuing today. Once she had obtained a thorough grounding in fashion in Paris, she opted to settle in the city of A Coruña, where she opened a small clothes boutique.

She debuted in Cibeles Fashion Week in 1998 and, the same year, presented a collection at Lisbon’s Universal Exhibition. In 1999 she participated at the Carrusel du Louvre and opened her first store in Madrid, in the heart of Barrio de Salamanca, which would be followed by other outlets throughout Spain. In 2004 she received the award for “Best Fashion Designer” from magazine El Arte de Vivir and the “Galicia Feminine Creation” award by the Galician Regional Government.

During the spring-summer 2004 season, she launched the Kina Fernández Eyewear line and a swimwear collection in 2005, as well as the Kina Fernández 2005 T-Shirts line. 2007 saw the launch of the Kina Fernández jewellery collection. The designer has thus diversified her offering with collections which she has conceived for women who love sophisticated, discreet prêt-à-porter fashion.

Today she has two principal objectives: the first is to continue with the expansion of her consolidated network of stores and concessions both in Spain and abroad; and the second, to expand into new international markets. Exports currently account for 35% of her business.
