    Interview with Victorio & Lucchino

Victorio -José Víctor Rodríguez Caro-and Lucchino -José Luís Medina del Corral-, create original designs imbued with the unmistakable personality of Andalusia.

Victorio & Lucchino began their careers in fashion in Seville, in the late seventies. They first met professionally in the design department at the Seville-based company Disart. After having worked together for some time, they decided to join forces and open a store in the capital of Andalusia, where they sold their early designs. In 1985 they designed their first collection, which they presented at a fashion show in New York.

From then on, and following the creation of the Cibeles Fashion Show, they began to present their ready to wear collections twice a year.In 1984, and observing the huge demand for their bridal wear, they decided to create their first collection in this speciality and present it at a fashion show in Barcelona, turning them into pioneers of a sector in which they would later be joined by a large number of ready to wear designers.

Over the years, Victorio & Lucchino have become leading figures on the Spanish fashion scene. Despite keeping up with all the latest innovations in the sector, these Seville-based designers have not abandoned the essence of the tradition and philosophy that defines their own very special style.

In 1992, they decided to diversify their product line and launched their first women's fragrance Carmen. Recently they have entered the field of jewellery design. Their love of art and culture has also led them to become involved in a number of film and theatre productions, including Yerma or La Celestina and the film The Bodyguard.

Their creations are known not only in Spain, but also enjoy international prestige in countries such as Japan, Germany, Italy, France, Holland or the United States.
