FIMI and Pitti Bimbo wrap up kids for winter

Two key dates for autumn-winter 2010/11 children’s wear.

The 70th International Fair for Children’s and Young People’s Fashion (FIMI) will be bringing us all the latest trends for autumn-winter 2010-2011. The exhibition will be held from January 22 to 24 to coincide with the International Baby Fair, Cero a Cuatro, providing a comprehensive view of all that’s new for youngsters.

Pavilion 6 of the Feria Valencia convention centre, products will have centre stage. Between 6,500 and 7,000 trade visitors are expected at this latest edition, with a strong showing from countries including Germany, France, Britain, Greece, Netherlands, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Rumania, Russia, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Brazil, USA and Mexico.

Around 225 exhibitors will strengthen the growing international credentials of an event that will include See Me, where the spotlight is on a selection of brands with a defined style and emphasis on aesthetic presentation.

New this year is the presentation of Custo Barcelona’s new kidswear brand Custo Growing on January 22 at the FIMI Fashion Show. AKR Kids, Barcarola, Bóboli, Cóndor, Elisa Menuts, Tuc Tuc and Tutto Piccolo will also be on the catwalk.

For the first time, FIMI will also have a space called FIMI & Agents, designed to get agents actively involved in the fair.

Running simultaneously in Florence is the 70th edition of Pitti Bimbo. This is the place to find Spanish brands like Custo Barcelona, Desigual, El Naturalista, Clic!, Interbaby, Mónica García Niña, Pretty Ballerinas, Tammy Donohoe’s and The Art Company.

Pitti Bimbo will be divided up in the usual way, with a selection that ranges from classic elegance to the more casual look of Sport Generation, the street fashion of SuperStreet, the green solidarity of EcoEthic, research angle adopted by New View and the cutting-edge designs of Apartment.

Over an area of 47,000 sq. m., 422 companies and 512 brands will be on display, 212 from outside Italy.
