Adolfo Domínguez takes his urban chic to Lima

11/13/2008

Following the opening of his first boutique in Peru, the Spanish designer holds a spectacular fashion show in Lima.

Many of Lima’s celebrities were present on 29 October for Adolfo Domínguez’s first fashion show in the Peruvian capital, which was held in the luxury restaurant Huaca Pucllana. The Spanish firm showed off its designs for the autumn/winter season 2008/2009 for the Adolfo Domínguez Men, Women, U, and Adolfo Domínguez Children lines.

The event formed part of the firm's expansion plan for Latin America – in particular the Peruvian market – which will see three new openings during the next few months. The Galician designer has confessed that he is passionate about Peru: he has been visiting the country on a regular basis for three decades in order to acquire alpaca wool, a material that has become a constant in his essentially urban collections and basic lines.

The Adolfo Domínguez space in Lima is located on the first floor of the exclusive Jockey Plaza shopping centre in the Santiago de Surco district of the capital. The establishment, with ash, walnut, and oak furniture in sandy tones, gold leaf, and brass, will house the Adolfo Domínguez Women and Accessory lines.

Founded in 1973, the Adolfo Domínguez brand became popular worldwide in the 1980s with the slogan ‘Wrinkles are beautiful’. It can currently be found in twenty countries in Europe, America, and Asia, and boasts some 500 points of sale.
