Capri´s store

Camper in the Capri sun

11/10/2008

The cutting-edge brand of Spanish footwear arrives in one of the chicest islands in the Mediterranean.

The Spanish brand of footwear Camper has just arrived in Capri, opening its first store on this emblematic Italian island. This new store is located in La Piazzetta, the nerve centre of the island where the most prestigious boutiques are located. The interior of the store was designed by Estudio Camper in line with its Premium concept, with a dominance of white and red tones. Natural fibres such as thick rope and roughly hewn wooden lamps create a very Mediterranean look and feel.

However, Capri is not the only location chosen by the label for its international expansion, since Camper has just opened yet another new store in London, the firm’s sixth shop in the city. This space, which opened its doors on the 30th October, is located in the brand new Westfield Shopping Centre in London. Based on the Meeting Point concept, which emerged through the label’s collaboration with the designer Martí Guixé, the structure of the store makes it a meeting point for all visitors to the shopping centre, thanks to the ironic use of aviation signs.

New stores and new designs
Camper is characterised by its policy of embarking on bold joint ventures with the most cutting-edge designers of the time in a search to find new forms of expression. Following previous collaborations with Jaime Hayón and Alfredo Häberli, it is now the turn of Bernard Willhelm, one of the leading exponents of the avant-garde school of Antwerp, Belgium. He recently designed the Camper Together Berharnd Willhelm collection for spring-summer 2009, presented at the last edition of the Paris Fashion Week.
