The Spanish firm opened its second boutique in Japan in October.
The Spanish footwear brand Castañer has just inaugurated its second shop in Japan, in the city of Osaka. The establishment, with its light and elegant decoration, is located in the prestigious shopping centre Breezé Breezé, in Nishi-Umeda. Following the opening of their first shop in Tokyo in 2007 in the exclusive neighbourhood of Ginza, this second branch, with its Mediterranean air, was opened on 3 October this year. As well as having its own two shops, Castañer also has two sections in other locations in Japan: one in Tokyo in the Shinjuku Takashimaya shopping centre, and another in Nagoya, in the Nagoya Takashimaya shopping centre.
With a history that stretches back to the eighteenth century, Castañer has converted the espadrille – traditionally a shoe worn mainly in the countryside – into elegant footwear with a cult following. Thanks to their modern, luxurious collections, celebrities all over the world have fallen for their concept of ‘Casual and elegant’.
Castañer’s wide-ranging collections of footwear for men and women are complemented by a line of bags and accessories. Castañer currently exports about 65 per cent of their products to Japan, the European Union, the United States, Switzerland, South Africa, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The brand has its own stores in Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Saint Tropez, and Tokyo, as well as sections in stores in twenty-two countries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Oceania, and North America.
