Desigual Stores in the Middle East

10/30/2008

Desigual is taking its atypical Spanish clothing designs to Bahrain and Saudi Arabia with four new stores.

On the 10th September, Desigual’s atypical Spanish wear arrived in the Gulf of Persia with a new boutique in the city of Manama, in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The outlet is located in the spectacular Bahrain City Centre Mall, one of the most luxurious shopping centres in the region.

The new store opening was part of the firm’s expansion plan in the Middle East through a network of franchises, which was extended over successive weeks with three new outlets in Saudi Arabia: one in the Dhahran Mall (Dhahran) opened on the 16th September, another in the Galleria Mall in Riyadh on the 22nd September and the third in the Arabia Mall (Jeddah) which opened on the 26th of the month.

Desigual’s expansion in the region will continue at the start of 2009 with two new openings in Dubai, one in the Dubai Marina Mall and another in the imposing Dubai Mall, the largest shopping centre in the world, where the store will enjoy an exceptional location next to the aquarium, an area that will attract lots of passers-by.

The streetwear and furiously urban prints designed by the Barcelona-based firm Desigual, founded in 1984, are gaining more devotees every day. The brand currently has 4,000 outlets throughout the world, as well as 96 boutiques around Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

The company now has its sights set on Russia, where it will open seven stores in 2009.
