Spanish women’s wear leader chooses the German top model for its Autumn-Winter 2005-06 campaign.
Claudia Schiffer will be the face of Mango’s autumn-winter advertising campaign. The German-born supermodel first featured in a number of attractive Mango adverts in the nineties, as did Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova and Christy Turlington. Other more recent faces are those of Karolina Kurkova, Inés Sastre and Lizzy Jagger.
This Mango collection offers sophisticated designs inspired by imperial Russia and a more casual look which draws on the Russian steppe. Claudia Schiffer’s Nordic image reflects the spirit of a range which comes replete with flounces, embroidery and patchwork.
Mango’s apparel and accessory collections are a global success story. Now established in more than 78 countries, the Spanish label continues to make international headway. Its latest new market is the United States, where it will be opening its first shop in August on Third Street Promenade in Los Angeles. It is also putting the finishing touches to a shop in New York, which will be the group’s US flagship. Other openings are planned for San Francisco, Las Vegas, Boston, Miami and Washington.
Another new market for Mango is Canada, where it will be opening a 500 m2 store in Toronto’s prestigious Yorkdale shopping centre. This is the first of 5 shops due to open in 2005.
