Nueva colección ecológica de Pretty Ballerinas.

Pretty Ballerinas launches its most environmentally-friendly collection

08/24/2010

The Spanish company has created a line made with recycled parachute fabrics from London.

The Mascaró group's youngest company, Pretty Ballerinas, continues with its commitment to respect the environment by creating designs that are increasingly sustainable. The latest to hit the market is the Parachute Eco-Collection, a new line that makes use of recycled parachute fabrics.

The idea originated from a visit to the UK and the discovery of Debbi Little, an eclectic London-based designer who uses this technique in her creations. The emblematic Spanish company has joined forces with little to create a very colourful collection for the new summer season.

The fabrics, which come from the largest parachute recycling centre in the UK, have been cleaned and dried by hand one-by-one with the greatest care. The result is an impeccable fabric with which to make each pair of ballerinas. These fabrics highlight the parachutes’ vibrant colour and shine and, for the first time, add a waterproof feature to this must-have in international footwear.

It is also the first time that Pretty Ballerinas has developed a new design, completely flexible and foldable, which sits on an extra-flat rubber sole, providing protection from winter's cold and damp.

The collection features a rainbow of various colours: emerald blue, water green, fuchsia, bronze, chocolate, lemon, red or plum. It is available at all the normal points-of-sale and online at www.prettyballerinas.com.

With this project, the Spanish brand is strengthening its position in the international footwear markets, innovating and expanding with a production that exceeds 300,000 pairs of shoes and 1,200 styles per year.
