Camper Together LA by Tokujin Yoshioka

Strategic openings for Camper in the second half of 2010

07/20/2010

The Spanish footwear brand puts the finishing touches to the opening of its fifth shop in Paris and eighth in Barcelona.

What is probably the Paris quartier with the highest density of Spanish shoe shops per square kilometre will soon be the place to go for the unmistakeable cutting-edge designs made by Camper.

After the recent opening of the Desigual megastore in the same district, it is now Camper’s turn. At the end of August or the beginning of September at the latest, a Camper Together shop covering 40 sq. m. will be opening at 8, Place de l’Opéra.

For the third time, Camper will be working with Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka, head of interior design at London’s Regent Street shop and the first shop in Los Angeles, which opened in Farmers Market in June. In the Paris shop, Yoshioka found inspiration to develop a project based on his famous Bouquet Chair, a simple and original seat which “blossoms” from a thin chromium stalk.

Other shops which are also undergoing refurbishment in September to become Camper Together boutiques are the one on Madrid’s Gran Vía, which will be designed by Jaime Hayón, and the shop on Jaime III, in Palma de Mallorca, also the work of Tokujin Yoshioka.

The Spanish footwear brand has also announced that it will be opening a new shop on Barcelona’s “Golden Mile” in October. The 100 sq.m. premises are at 2-4 Paseo de Gracia.

Camper has its registered offices in Inca (Mallorca) and an export rate of 67%. It has 68 shops, 75 shop-in-shops and 12 of its own outlets, as well as 75 shops, four outlets and 65 shop-in-shops under franchise in 42 different countries.
