The Spanish retail group makes its entry in the British market with its Cortefiel, Springfield and Womensecret brands.
This spring, Cortefiel is launching three of its brands in the UK in a deal with property giant Land Securities.
The Spanish textiles group expects to open Cortefiel, Springfield and Womensecret shops in the St. David shopping centre in Cardiff, owned by Land Securities. It will open eight further shops across the country during 2010.
Cortefiel has reached a deal with Brand Empire, a Land Securities subsidiary, which helps introduce big brands into the British market. Although the company’s initial aim is to open single-brand shops in malls controlled by Land Securities, it will be free to negotiate with third parties.
The Cortefiel group has 1,600 shops and its four chains – Cortefiel, Springfield, Women’secret and Pedro del Hierro – operate in 60 markets.
