Uno de 50 goes global in Miami

02/08/2010

The Spanish accessories brand opens its own shop in Lincoln Road.

Uno de 50 is implementing an international expansion programme of own-brand stores. First to open is a boutique in Miami. Further stores will be rolled out in the coming months in the world's major fashion capitals.

The new boutique, which covers an area of 60 sq m, is in Lincoln Road, the open air shopping mall in Miami Beach. The store represents the new brand image reflecting the craftsmanship and values behind its products: originality, rebelliousness, elegance, irony and 100% made in Spain.

Both materials and colours express a more serene and warmer mood than its earlier shops. Wood, plus a combination of white, mink and its signature red make up the new decor.

True to form, the new Uno de 50 shop also features plenty of interesting detail and recycled elements. Gilt pictures and pages from an old book-keeping ledger bought in Madrid's flea market are among the decorative items on the wall. A vintage sofa and old bottles of lemonade complete the picture.

The brand has 35 standalones in Spain and more than 2,000 points of sale in 35 countries. It has recently set up an online shop to sell the highly personal and unconventional creations of designer Concha Díaz del Río. Paris, New York, London and Milan will be its next locations.
