A strong Spanish showing at New York Fashion Week, February 11 to 18, 2010.
The marquees are up in Bryant Park, on 41st Street in New York City, revving engines for the next New York Fashion Week to be held from February 11 to 18, with a growing number of Spanish names.
The first Spanish designer to take to the catwalk will be Custo Dalmau, who will once again unveil his autumn/winter 2010/11 collection on St Valentine's Day in The Tent. As was the case last week at his stand in Bread & Butter Berlin, the Spanish brand offers one of the warmest of winters with plenty of snug fur and leather.
Two days later, on February 16, at The Salon, Catalonia's Toni Francesc will present his collection called Artificial Life, a metaphor for the contrast between an artisan past and all that the future has in store. This is the second consecutive season that the brand is taking part in NYFW.
Joaquín Trías's show will take place on February 18 at The Promenade. The young designer from Madrid made his fashion debut last season on the New York catwalk. New-age fabrics and precise cuts made his collection one to watch.
The cutting-edge team behind Davidelfin will reveal their autumn/winter 2010/11 collection, again at The Salon, just an hour after Trías. For the third season running, the collection will make its debut in New York before appearing, a few days later at Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week.
