Madrid shop for MGGM myriam gallego

11/19/2009

The bag and accessories brand opens for business at 14, Conde de Xiquena.

Spanish bag and accessories brand MGGM myriam gallego was created in Madrid in 1998 by its founders, Myriam and Javier. Architecture and the locomotive industry are two key sources of inspiration for these designers whose collections are made for women who want elegance on the cutting edge.

The brand has now set up a concept-store in partnership together with Catalan brand Madre Mía del Amor Hermoso, which has championed new-age fabrics.

The brands’ shared commitment to made-in-Spain products, and a keen desire to experiment has driven them to join forces under the catchword “emotive design”.

The new standalone at 14, Conde de Xiquena in the district of Las Salesas, Madrid’s equivalent to Soho, will replace the shop previously operating on Calle Maldonado. White, black and grey are the predominant colours, enhanced by striking splashes of red, in premises spread over three storeys and with a bar area.

MGGM myriam gallego has two other franchise-run shops in Singapore and Russia, and 42 multibrand shops which sell its products. Its activities focus on Spain (40%), Russia and the CIS (30%), Asia (20%) and the EU (10%).
