Shoe Collections from Spain in Tokyo

06/23/2009

The exhibition will showcase the best designs for spring/summer 2010.

Some 25 Spanish companies, representing 40 prestigious footwear brands, will participate in the fifth Shoe Collections from Spain in Japan. These include Arman Basi, Audley London, Magrit, Mascaró, Pons Quintana, Pura López, Tous Les Jours and Vidoretta.

During the exhibition, taking place from 22 to 24 July, the companies will present a preview of their collections for the coming 2010 spring/summer season which will later be shown at international trade fairs such as MICAM, WSA and GDS.

The exhibition area will cover two floors of Modapolitica in the centre of the Minami Aoyama district, one of the most important areas for fashion retail, and in particular, luxury brands, in Tokyo. It is a very exclusive exhibition, strictly targeting buyers and trade journalists. Nearly one thousand people visited the event last year.

The exhibition will take place at the same time as the International Fashion Fair (IFF), one of the most important events of its kind in Japan.

Japan is one of the priority markets for the Spanish footwear sector, both in terms of its high buying power and its high levels of consumption. Spanish footwear exports in 2008 amounted to 25.2 million euros, a fall of 11% due to the financial climate.
