The boutique is in Omotesando, the Japanese capital’s luxurious shopping district.
Together stores are Camper boutiques created by leading contemporary designers, architects and artists. The latest to open is in the exclusive district of Omotesando, in Tokyo, which recently unveiled its cutting-edge design, courtesy of man of many talents, the Spanish artist Jaime Hayón.
The Hayón universe surges from every corner of the new shop. Everything from furnishings to craft ceramics has been created exclusively for the Omotesando boutique, which is inspired by the world of the circus. The organically-shaped doors have handles like sugar sticks, while dreamlike contrasts are created amidst the delicate Bisazza tiles the on walls and cement floor. Hayón plays with perspective by hanging coloured mirrors from the ceiling and placing bevelled glass panels between areas to separate spaces with magical transparency.
The partnership between the designer and Camper began in 2006, and Hayón has since left his mark on shops in London (Foubert´s Place), Paris (Cherche Midi), Milan (Montenapoleone), Barcelona (Paseo de Gracia) and Palma de Mallorca (San Miguel). Other designers who have worked on the Camper Together project include the Campana brothers, Alfredo Hâberli, Konstantin Grcic and the Bouroullec brothers.
