06/18/2009

Nearly thirty Spanish brands will be taking part in the show when it opens in Florence on June 25.

Pitti Immagine Bimbo, one of the world’s leading children’s wear shows, will hold a new edition at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence from June 25 to 27.

With about 500 exhibiting brands and more than 10,000 trade visitors from 80 countries at the last edition, Pitti Bimbo is a key event in the children’s wear sector. This will be an opportunity to see all the latest collections for spring-summer 2010

At this edition, 27 Spanish children’s wear brands will be travelling to Florence, including Mayoral, Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, Pili Carrera, Tutto Piccolo and Tuc Tuc.

In parallel, Spanish designer Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada has organised a “tea-party” to present her new dance collection to the media on Thursday 24 at the exhibition press club.

Pitti Bimbo is essential to the global aspirations of Spanish businesses, as it showcases their collections to the world’s most important buyers. A must for companies in the sector, taking part brings considerable commercial and economic benefits.

To promote Spanish children’s wear, a number of the top brands have advertising features in leading Italian trade magazines like Vogue Bambini, Bambini Collezione and 0-3 Baby.

Italy is now the top market for Spanish textiles exports. In 2008, Spain exported garments worth €510 mill. euros to its Mediterranean neighbour, up 22% on the previous year. This figure accounts for 10% of the total.
