The Spanish fashion label, owned by El Corte Inglés, is looking for locations to open new stores in both countries.
The Spanish fashion label Sfera is immersed in an unstoppable process of international expansion, which has so far taken the firm to a number of fairly disparate destinations such as Mexico, Portugal, Greece, Belgium, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, where it has achieved outstanding results.
But this young label, rather than resting on its laurels, is setting itself new challenges and has its sights firmly set on two new targets: Germany and Holland. Sfera is currently looking for strategically positioned outlets in major cities around these two European countries to open its first stores. Furthermore, in addition to its recently inaugurated store in Kuwait, as part of the company’s expansion plans in the Middle East, it will soon open a further two outlets in Saudi Arabia.
El Corte Inglés, which at an international level only has two centres in Portugal, has turned the Sfera chain into a kind of guinea pig to test the waters in foreign markets, and has so far achieved the same level of success in all of them. Sfera currently has 71 outlets all around the world. The company’s results from 2007 have not yet been published, although they are expected to be very positive, following the 35% increase in profits recorded in 2006.
