Cosmoprof Asia brings world fashion A-listers to this Chinese port city. What better excuse to shop for Spanish cosmetics in this vibrant metropolis?

‘Bì yuè xiū huā’ is one of countless sayings alluding to the proverbial beauty of Chinese women, where the moon hides its face and flowers hang their heads in shame when they see them! Age-old Chinese beauty rites have inspired top Spanish cosmetic brands in the development of high-tech formulae and technologies capable of making skin bright and smooth, and of adding new shine to hair. Leading brands will be exhibiting at Cosmoprof Asia 2014 from 12 to 14 November – an excellent opportunity to appeal to the senses on a beauty tour with a Spanish flavour.

Natura Bissé hits the spot with its Diamond White Serum, which renews, illuminates and depigments, and Diamond White SPF50 protection cream, with an eight-session salon protocol to reinforce their efficacy. Make your appointment at the brand’s flagship boutique in the Pacific Place mall (88 Queensway).

High-end scientific cosmetics with organic and ecological ingredients by Alissi Brontë have two best-sellers on the Hong Kong market: Gold Nutriv rejuvenating lotion, a lithocosmetic which stimulates collagen production; and Phyto Sea Super Moisturizer - Thalissi, a super-moisturising marine-based formula. Both are available at brand shops in the Miramar mall (132, Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui) and at Windsor House (311, Gloucester Road, Causeway Bay).

Alqvimia offers treatments including Body Sculptor Massage to drain, reduce and tone. Its facial products include Eternal Youth Eye Treatment, which descongests and redensifies the eye contour area. To get the benefits out of these products, check out one of three Alqvimia locations, at its boutique or urban spa at the World Trade Centre, or the iSQUARE shop at 63, Nathan Road.

Casmara has proved a big hit with its Algae Peel-Off Facial Mask and new-age natural smart peeling product Rgenerin Three Action, available at shops including Sense of Pure (Johnson Centre, 13 Hau Fook Street), Freedas centres and the Private i Skincare & Beauty Clinic.

Germaine de Capuccini has won over the market with Timexpert C+ (A.G.E.), which deters the skin glycation that causes ageing. Its intensive multi-corrective effect can be obtained from a salon treatment and two daily applications. The product is available from spaces like Lilian Beauty at the Prudential Centre, Michelle Beauty Centre in New Town Tower and May Facial House at Kwong Fok Shopping Mall.

The New Town Plaza is the place to go for Kueshi natural cosmetics by Naturchem,  where you can try out its nourishing, revitalising and toning cream, Nutrix Caviar.

Skeyndor’s Corrective – winner of the AsiaSpa Award for best anti-ageing product – includes cream, serum, plus eye and lip contour creams based on four micro-relaxing peptides for the definitive correction of fine lines. This is the star range at the Seau Beauty Clinic in the Bangkok Bank Building.

Our final port of call is to discover Collage permanent colour range, with its endless possibilities of highlights and shades, the X-Trem fixing gel in the K.Style Cool line and Teknia Extreme Cleanse for greasy hair and scalp, the top three on Lakmé’s Hong Kong sales chart. To try them, pop in at the Momo Hair salon on Causeway Bay.

After a pleasant stroll through this eclectic Chinese city, we’ll say goodbye till next year… So Zài jiàn!
