With the arrival of spring comes an endless array of ceremonies that tend to fill the family agenda.  Spanish childrenswear brands dominate the style field for formal occasions with top-of-the-line looks so tots can take center stage in style at these special events.

From Monday to Friday they sport their well-worn school uniforms.  In just a few weeks they’ll need wardrobe essentials for their summer adventures, but the most pressing reality is that the wedding, baptism, graduation, and first communion season is officially upon us.  The season brings with it an ongoing list of occasions and ceremonies that transform our little ones into pint-sized socialites.  With that in mind, we’ve curated a number of looks to help bear the burden of dressing our brood, but still lets them take some of the spotlight.

Full of flare
Barcarola’s designs for the season are a nod to the fifties. Full skirts and cinched waists create stunning silhouettes in pastel and candy colors, where the warmth of natural raw materials combine with the practical nature of technical textiles.
“The renovated classic style” of Fina Ejerique also evokes a miniature version of a ladylike silhouette that is as charming as it is fluid.
Foque’s already characteristic handcrafted finishes are further adorned by ruffles and their particular knack for creating volume.
Tartaleta’s designs are extremely romantic as they once again infuse their looks with an indisputably vintage touch.
The inspiration for Villalobos and its brand N+V Villalobos, developed in conjunction with model Nieves Álvarez, is also aligned with this retro chic approach.

Mediterranean elegance
Conguitos define the essence of their collection as “garments with a high-end look and a touch of innocence at the same time.”  This takes place in a season where sailor suits get an update for the girls and they smarten up the guys to give them an air of stylish scamps.
Cóndor proclaim, “All aboard!” with their sunny naval-inspired collection.
The impeccable tailored suits by Nanos are distinguished by their casual elegance.  The brand brings life to the saying “less is more” with the flowing silhouettes of their dresses. Nícoli boast boho chic subtlety while Gocco advocate a natural approach with their “Smart line.  As always   Neck & Neck stand out by producing classic designs that flirt with current trends.
Tulles, jacquards and linen are the stars of the sweetest ceremony collection by Pili Carrera.
Comfort and elegance go hand-in-hand at Elisa Menuts, as they opt for simple silhouettes and natural textiles.

Flower power
Exuberant floral prints are on display at José Varón, while at Pan con Chocolate they tout a more tropical variety.  They’re radiant at Mayoral and perfectly pastel at La Ormiga… Flowers are blossoming everywhere, even on the delicate surfaces of the Paz Rodríguez collection and in the inspired form of citrus fruit blossoms as seen with Sanmar.

We’ve sorted a range of the most traditional and bohemian looks into three categories.  Those of you who still have a hankering for more can continue to seek inspiration by perusing our galleries of the spring-summer 2016 shows at Pitti Bimbo and FIMI.  However you should all stay tuned next month when we’ll offer a sneak peak into the 2017 summer trends as we cover both aforementioned trade shows.
